NATIONAL AVE. AND GRAND STREET INTERSECTION
The initial phase of the Grand - National intersection construction has begun and is expected to be completed by early fall 2009. (This is the area primarily east of Craig Hall on Grand St.) Expect slow downs on Grand St. due to the reconfiguration of the Grand/National intersection. Last week they had traffic backed up all the way to Kimbrough. There has been some talk of just shutting down Grand for a day, instead of grinding traffic to near stop of 5 days. We will let you know if we find out more info. I’ve linked a page from our website that will give more information on the total project. Also you can click on the plan to see what all the commotion is about. Basically, they are providing double turn lanes.
