SMSU 1996 VISION PLAN

The map below shows the Missouri State University boundary (dashed line) as specified in the SMSU/City of Springfield Cooperative Agreement. The map also outlines the development to take place in that area, including the conversion of the parking lots located between Kings Ave.  and Dollison Ave. into a green buffer yard. The buffer yard will extend from Dollison Ave. to National Ave. when complete.  A large landscaped storm water detention area (This area was completed in 1999) is located in the east and southeast end of the green space.  The park-like atmosphere of the detention area was recently recognized by the City of Springfield Planning and Zoning Commission as an outstanding example of landscape in the public realm.
