PHELPS
HELPS 2008 -- A SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
After seven successful years the Phelps Grove Neighborhood
Association and the
Springfield Art Museum
we are doing things a little different this year with the PHELPS HELPS -
Summer Concert Series.
We are taking more of
a laid back summer attitude this year and working with the
limitations this year.
Due to the
construction at the Springfield Art Museum this year we do
not have an alternative sight for rainy weather. Given
the extensive rainy weather this year, this has greatly
restricted the number of bands wanting to risk a rain soaked
evening. (one of the few bands interested was a guy
named "Noah and his traveling Arc." We didn't book
him; he had too many party animals for such a small sight!)
However, we do have
the several of the Springfield Symphony ensemble groups
performing on Thursday Evening, June 19th. This should
be an excellent way to lead into a nice restful weekend!
(Sunny weather is predicted -- really!!!)
Stay tuned for more
concerts that may be added during the summer.
This charity concert series is intended to
entertain our neighbors, and show how much we care about the community in
which we live. Raffles will take place at all of our concerts to
help open pocket books to give to well deserved charities. While the music is free -- we hope you will
contribute to the charity (chosen by our performers) and make this an
event that will benefit our entire community.
We hope you join our annual
Phelps Helps 2008 Summer Concert Series.

All concerts will be held at the PHELPS GROVE
AMPHITHEATER located west of SPRINGFIELD ART MUSEUM.
In the event of
rain, the concerts will be submerged and will, more than
likely, become a Woodstock event -- or cancelled.
